Earth

Earth (or the Earth) is the third planet from the Sun and the densest and fifth-largest of the eight planets in the Solar System. It is also the largest of the Solar System's four terrestrial planets. It is sometimes referred to as the World, the Blue Planet, or by its Latin name, Terra.[note 6][note 7]
Home to millions of species including humans, Earth is currently the only astronomical body where life is known to exist.[17] The planet formed 4.54 billion years ago, and life appeared on its surface within a billion years.[18] Earth's biosphere has significantly altered the atmosphere and other abiotic conditions on the planet, enabling the proliferation of aerobic organisms as well as the formation of the ozone layer which, together with Earth's magnetic field, blocks harmful solar radiation, permitting life on land.[19] The physical properties of the Earth, as well as its geological history and orbit, have allowed life to persist during this period. The planet is expected to continue supporting life for at least another 500 million years.[20][21]
Earth's outer surface is divided into several rigid segments, or tectonic plates, that migrate across the surface over periods of many millions of years. About 71% of the surface is covered with salt water oceans, the remainder consisting of continents and islands which together have many lakes and other sources of water contributing to the hydrosphere. Liquid water, necessary for all known life, is not known to exist in equilibrium on any other planet's surface.[note 8] Earth's poles are mostly covered with solid ice (Antarctic ice sheet) or sea ice (Arctic ice cap). The planet's interior remains active, with a thick layer of relatively solid mantle, a liquid outer core that generates a magnetic field, and a solid iron inner core.
Earth interacts with other objects in space, especially the Sun and the Moon. At present, Earth orbits the Sun once every 366.26 times it rotates about its own axis, which is equal to 365.26 solar days, or one sidereal year.[note 9] The Earth's axis of rotation is tilted 23.4° away from the perpendicular of its orbital plane, producing seasonal variations on the planet's surface with a period of one tropical year (365.24 solar days).[22] Earth's only known natural satellite, the Moon, which began orbiting it about 4.53 billion years ago, provides ocean tides, stabilizes the axial tilt and gradually slows the planet's rotation. Between approximately 3.8 billion and 4.1 billion years ago, numerous asteroid impacts during the Late Heavy Bombardment caused significant changes to the greater surface environment.
Both the mineral resources of the planet, as well as the products of the biosphere, contribute resources that are used to support a global human population. These inhabitants are grouped into about 200 independent sovereign states, which interact through diplomacy, travel, trade, and military action. Human cultures have developed many views of the planet, including personification as a deity, a belief in a flat Earth or in the Earth as the center of the universe, and a modern perspective of the world as an integrated environment that requires stewardship.

Save the Earth 10 Simple Tips

In the current global warming increasingly wild, rampant pollution, irregular weather like today, indeed every person should be interested in the environment.

How do I? Easy. Here LiveScience gives 10 tips to protect the Earth from destruction. All are simple ways that we can start from today. What is it?

1. Use a light bulb type flurosen alias Fluorescent Lights (CFLs).

These lamps are more expensive than ordinary light bulbs. But the durability 10 times longer and certainly more energy efficient. This is not an ad. Studies show when a CFL light energy absorbed 75 percent less than the Nola plain bright yellow lights. Within a year CFL can reduce carbon dioxide production to 500 pounds. This is equivalent to the pollution produced 17 cars on the road for a year!

2. Saving electricity at home.

Classical advice that was never out of date. Indeed the old adage is becoming increasingly required realizations, not just theory. Put out the lights in the daytime. Turn off the AC when the room was occupied. Just so you know the average each house generate greenhouse gas emissions are two times more than is produced by a car. So do not because they do not remove the black smoke from the tailpipe of your car then you already feel like a hero of the environment.

3. Do not use plastic.

Avoid the use of plastic. Plastic bags are widely used in traditional supermarkets and grocery pack. There's good we bring own cloth bags or paper from home and refuse plastic bags with a fine from the seller. Why? Plastic materials that can not self-destruct in landfills. A series of compounds in such materials would damage the soil biological fertility.

4. Maximize the use of computers.

Indeed, in this era is now often people send letters by post. But make no mistake, there are many private offices and who prefer to store documents or letters traditionally, ie, printed on paper. There are some securities that can not be replaced by electronic mail. However, during a document can be stored electronically on a computer, try to do it. Just so you know, we use paper that has been successful due to the forest clean out the paper company has cut down the trees as the base ingredients.

5. Buy local products.

Stop buying imported food products. By eating what is near us, then we play a role in reducing pollution and energy waste. Why should import beef from Australia if the local cows is not less delicious. Imagine how much energy and pollution generated dihasbiskan than just bring in European sausage or Dutch cheese to your table. For information, wines from the Napa Valley have to wade a distance of 2143 miles for the sake of being in a supermarket in Chicago.

6. Praktikan principle 3 R

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce consumption, reuse second-hand goods can still be used, and recycling of certain materials. Said it was easy, but do not run it. Only once you start, we'll get used to.

7. Slowly remove non-renewable energy.

Somewhat difficult indeed if not supported by the availability of products and infrastructure. But it does not mean impossible. If there is an option where we can enjoy the power with matahatri ray source or the wind, why not? More clean and energy efficient.

8. Kill the power vacuum products

Without realizing it, we are constantly buying and mengngunakan products that dissipate energy. Television (TV) is one of them. Without conscious of a family often turn on the TV non-stop 24 hours but not seen. Likewise, computer, DVD player and mobile phone charger is continuously connected to the electric outlet.

9. Reduce the use of chemicals.

Chemicals are not natural ingredients. As with other artificial materials, this material can not be dissolved by itself and leave the bad effects on life. Pesticides, insect repellent and some room cleaning materials contain various chemical components that we breathe unconsciously join our lifetime. Even food vegetables and fruits, too, took him into our bodies. The fix? Maximize the consumption of natural ingredients, including organic vegetables.

10. Hijaukan your home!

Many of us who claim to love the environment, love green, but the fact is almost never planted anything in his yard. Okay if you do not have a home page. At least you try to give an opportunity for plants to live in the vicinity. Hanging hydroponic plants, or enough help for those who live in apartments, flats or boarding houses.
